NATHANIEL C. SHANNON

nathaniel c. shannon is a new york city–based photographer and director from ypsilanti, mi. he began documenting detroit’s punk, hardcore, and metal scenes previous to moving to New York City, where his work has appeared on countless magazines, album covers, and across global media. he co-directed the 2021 documentary deadguy: killing music, and has directed and shot music videos for bands including deadguy, intercourse, the twin, thursday, taking back sunday, and the judas knife. he released his first book, saint vitus bar: the first 10 years an oral and visual history in 2024, with a gallery installation to follow currently on display at the punk rock museum in las vegas. nathaniel is also the co-host of the shadowtalker podcast, interviewing artists and musicians about their paranormal experiences.
